# Greenpeace Nordic

> Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behavior, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. It comprises 26 independent national/regional offices in more than 55 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a co-ordinating body, Greenpeace International.Greenpeace Nordic was established in 1999 through an association of the national Greenpeace offices in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. The offices merged to increase impact and efficiency through better Nordic cooperation.
